Is Your Diet the Best You Can Do?

To many Americans, reaching our body's optimal weight can feel like a pipe dream. When every magazine cover touts a diet or a pill that says you can lose, "20 lbs in 6 days!" it's easy to feel hopeless, discouraged, and that all is lost.

That's another thing I really love about Perfect Weight America, Jordan Rubin's revolutionary weight loss/healthy lifestyle program.
It works, but it doesn't claim that you'll lose insane amounts of weight in a ridiculously small amount of time. It works, but you don't starve yourself, or count calories obsessively all day long. Many diet programs hinge on that very principle alone, and my theory is that it's why the majority of dieters fail. (Or if they succeed, go on to develop eating disorders.)

Let's get over the fantasy that you can pop a magic pill, or lose weight without much effort.

On the flip side, let's get over the idea that we have to starve ourselves to look great. We just make ourselves miserable that way, and you can't be healthy when you're obsessing over every calorie.

Instead, let's embrace God's plan for health in our lives- to eat nutrient dense, calorie rich foods tailor made for our bodies, to exercise correctly, and to be free from torment and worry in our minds.

We shouldn't do a program like
Perfect Weight America
or the Maker's Diet so that we can be the best that Hollywood or Milan says we should be. (Talk about fantasy!) We should follow these programs so that we can be the best that WE can be.

That's all God asks of us. That's all anyone can ask of us.

Is your current diet the best you can do? Are you spending too much time and money on foods and habits that lead to disease and heartache? Or are you spending too much time obsessing over calories and a lower weight?

If you answered yes to either of these questions, then keep tuning in to this series! Tomorrow I'll be sharing some exciting testimonies from people who had great success with Perfect Weight America.

And stay posted- because along with Garden of Life, I want to see you reach your body's perfect weight this year, and be the best you can be! Tomorrow, I'll be announcing an exciting giveaway to help you do just that, hosted by Garden of Life!

May you become the best version of YOU in this New Year! See you tomorrow!

I love this book, and all the others by Jordan Rubin. Most people do not understand the urgency of eating healthy and natural, but it really is the only way to go. Everyday, I look forward to increasing my overall wellness and vitality through nutritious and natural foods, greatly influenced by the Maker's Diet. Glad to see other advocates of natural foods, healthy living, and followers of Christ taking part in this special mission for today's sadly misguided world.

I started following the Maker's Diet about 4 years ago after suffering from Crohn's Disease. It is a life saver! Thank you for all your posts. It makes things easier for me to know there are others who are living my same lifestyle.
